After Chambers and Partners of London listed BNU in its survey of leading intellectual property law firms and lawyers in the Philippines, ASIA IP validated anew BNU’s growing reputation in its own survey of Asia’s best trademark practices.
ASIA IP is a magazine published and distributed monthly by Apex Asia Media Ltd. It provides information for in-house counsel on issues affecting the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights within the region.
“After months of extensive independent research by ASIA IP researchers and input from in-house counsel and private practitioners from across Asia and beyond, we finally reveal the region’s best trademark practices according to the people that matter most – their clients and peers,” according to ASIA IP’s August 2010 issue.
ASIA IP said of BNU: “IP Specialist Bengzon negre Untalan is noted for its enforcement work, including its efforts is seizing P34 million (US$755,000) of fake Lacoste goods and sewing machines and embroidery equipment used in a counterfeiting operation in Valenzuela City. Partners Anthony D Bengzon, Ferdinand M Negre, Michael Z Untalan and Jonathan Q Perez come recommended; Negre teaches trademark law at the law school of the Ateneo de Manila University. Clients include San Miguel, Nestle and the University of the Philippines.”
